On Friday 6th of March 2020, AB Microfinance Bank Nigeria honoured its female clients and employees by celebrating the 2020 International women.s day.

This was done to recognize the contributions of women to the nation.s economic development.

Also, women constitute over 60 percent of the bank.s borrower base and over the years, they have shown great entrepreneurial acumen in growing their business concerns through facilities granted by the bank and at the same time have proven very good repayment behaviour which inspires great trust in Nigerian women as business partners to the bank.

Mr. Pawel Wodz, the Chief Business Officer of the bank emphasized that .At AB Microfinance Bank, we give our female clients equal opportunities with their male counterparts in business financing and other areas they need our support. Our records show that they have incredibly been able to utilize these facilities to grow their businesses in many ingenious ways. We are highly encouraged by this and we thought that it would be a great idea to further encourage them by recognizing, celebrating and honoring these wonderful women that are changing the face of businesses in Nigeria and the International Women.s Day provides the opportunity for us to show how appreciative we are to them., he said.

He added: .Gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. A gender equal world can be healthier, wealthier and more harmonious. The event which took place at the Diamond hall, Amber Residence in G.R.A Ikeja with the global theme .Each for Equal. attracted women from different walks of life including Onyeka Onwenu, Nigerian music legend, Modupe Ladipo an independent director of the bank and also a managing partner at Prosperar consulting and also some female clients and employees of the bank.
