TRAINEE LOAN OFFICER(REFCODE: TLO/CREDIT/APR/2021)


Location: ABA - ABIA STATE
Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Creating and Managing owned Loan portfolio
  • Conducting direct promotion and/or other marketing activities on regular basis
  • Screening prospect’s eligibility, opening loan applications and arranging appointments with clients
  • Conducting loan analyses by visiting the business and household of clients, visiting the business/employer of guarantors and preparing a complete loan assessment according to the bank’s credit procedures

AGREEMENT AND TERMS & CONDITIONS

AB MICROFINANCE BANK NIGERIA LIMITED (AB MFB) operating on the basis of the Central Bank of Nigeria licence No. REF:OFI/GPF/POL/GEN/01/130 Hereinafter referred to as “Bank”, on the one hand, and the account holder, hereinafter referred to as the Account Holder, on the other hand have concluded among themselves the following Agreement on Wednesday, 22 October 2008.

AB MICROFINANCE BANK NIGERIA LIMITED with License No REF:OFI/GPF/POL/GEN/01/130, issued on 3rd November 2008 by the Central Bank of Nigeria, & with CAC Certificate of Incorporation No. RC 747760; with its Head Office address at No.28 Akintoye Shogunle Street (Opposite No 2 John Olugbo Street) Ikeja Lagos Phone: +234-1-2122387

1. SUBJECT OF THE AGREEMENT

The Bank shall be responsible for the account opening, acceptance and deposit of funds into the Account, transfer and withdrawal of funds from the Account, and the execution of other operations as per the Account Holder’s instructions. This account opening and account characteristics shall comply with Know Your Customer level 1 from Central Bank of Nigeria in order to promote financial inclusion.

2. ACCOUNT OPENING AND OPERATIONS

2.1 On the basis of supporting information and documentation, the Bank shall open the account and thereon operate on behalf of the Account Holder the above mentioned account.
2.2
Account statements are available on Account Holder’s request. Upon receiving, the Account Holder must read and carefully check his/her statements as soon as possible. Unless the Bank receives any queries or complaints regarding a Statement within 14 days of the date of that Statement, then the Bank shall be entitled to assume that the Account Holder agrees that the Statement.
2.3
Cash withdrawals and money transfer instructions shall be executed by the Bank only on the basis of original written instructions received from the Account Holder, or by the account holder via available electronic means.
2.4
All operations shall be conducted within the limits of the available balance on the Account.
2.5
The Account Holder should pay for all related account fees according to the Bank’s current List of Charges and Rates

3. RIGHTS AND LIABILITIES OF THE PARTIES

3.1 Rights and Liabilities of the Bank:

3.1.1. The Bank bears responsibility for conducting operations through the Accounts in accordance with the regulations and legislation in force in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and in accordance with generally accepted banking practices.
3.1.2.
The Bank bears responsibility for the storage and safekeeping of the funds placed on the Account.
3.1.3.
Bank shall accept cash and non-cash deposits from the Account Holder. The Bank shall accept cash and non-cash withdrawals of the Account Holder. All mentioned transactions must be within the limits set by the Anti-Money Laundering Policies of the Bank & the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
3.1.4.
The Bank must at all times guarantee the execution of Account Holder’s instructions for Account transactions. The Bank is paying interest on the account according to the latest List of Charges and Rates.
3.1.5.
The Bank guarantees that information regarding the Account Holder, the Account and any Account operations will remain confidential.
3.1.6.
The Bank reserve rights to deduct fee for Bank Operations from the balance on the Account Holder’s Account according to the current List of Charges and Rates.
3.1.7.
The Bank reserves the right to amend the List of Charges and Rates from time to time without prior notification to the Account Holder.

3.2 Rights and Liabilities of the Account Holder:


3.2.1.
The Account Holder has the right to give instructions to the Bank to conduct operations through the Accounts within the framework of the Bank’s policy and procedures and other founding documents.
3.2.2.
The Account Holder shall immediately inform the Bank of any changes in the information previously provided to the Bank.
3.2.3.
If applicable, the Account Holder is entitled to receive interests on the account until the day of closing the account.

4. TERMS OF VALIDITY

4.1. The Agreement shall be effective from the date of its signature by both Parties or electronic acceptance/approval by both Parties. The Agreement is concluded for an unlimited period of time.
4.2.
The Account Holder can terminate the Agreement at any time on the basis of a written application to close the Account. Upon the termination of this Agreement, the Bank shall proceed with account closure.
4.3.
The Bank has the right to terminate this agreement if the account is considered dormant. Regarding dormant accounts, the bank is following the rules set by the Central Bank of Nigeria & the practice amongst the financial institutions conducting business in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
4.4.
Termination of this Agreement is the basis for the close of Account Holder’s account.
4.5.
If the Agreement is terminated, credit funds on the Account shall be returned to the Account Holder or, upon the Account Holder’s instructions shall be transferred to another account within reasonable time.

5. ELECTRONIC CHANNELS

5.1. You agree to take responsibility for protecting and ensuring safety of your user login profiles (user ID and password) at all times. Registration for the Mobile channel is for a single user only; You must not permit other persons use your user login profile nor disclose your details to third parties. AB MFB will not be liable for any losses arising from unauthorized access to, or use of your account arising from your negligence or failure to safeguard and protect your user login profile or any other customer information protection device or functionality provided by the bank to facilitate confidentiality, integrity and accuracy of your data.
5.2.
Your access to the Mobile channel may be suspended at any time without notice to maintain the integrity of this service or in instances of system maintenance or failure, or for any reasons beyond AB MFB’s control. AB MFB also reserves the right to temporarily or permanently change, modify or discontinue this service at any time without notice. You hereby agree that AB MFB will not be liable to you or any third party for the exercise of these rights of suspension, modification and discontinuation.

6. FINAL PROVISIONS

6.1.
Disputes which cannot be settled on a bilateral basis will be resolved in the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and subject to the Laws of the Federal republic of Nigeria.
6.2.
The Account Holder hereby acknowledges that he/she has read, understood and agreed to the provisions of the contract.

How much can I borrow?
Answer:

Our minimum loan amount is N15,000 and a Maximum amount of N20,000,000. Both depend on borrower’s repayment capacity assessed based on verifiable business inventory and other criteria.

What type of Loan do you offer?
Answer:

What we offer are business loans for businesses that are already in existence/operation, and housing/house improvement loans.

What are your loan requirements?
Answer:
To access our loan facility;
  • You must have a business
  • The location must be within our bank’s lending area (Lagos state, Oyo state and Ogun state)
  • It must have been in existence within a specific period.
How long does it take to get a loan?
Answer:

It doesn't take longer than it ought to as long as the necessary requirements are adequately met (less than 3 working days).

What is your interest rate?
Answer:

Our interest rate differs depending on the loan amount. However, it is very competitive.

Do I need to open an account before I can get a loan?
Answer:

No fee or mandatory account opening is required before you can get a loan from us. No COT on ABN account (zero COT on all ABN account type).

What documents do I need to start the process?
Answer:

A valid ID-card and proof of business ownership.

What if my business is not registered?
Answer:

Proof of business ownership can be in form of shop rent receipt, invoices, goods/product receipt etc (Evidence to show your business have been in existence within the stipulated period).

Do I need a guarantor?
Answer:

Yes, at least one guarantor will be required for the loan process.

What is meant by declining balance?
Answer:

The interest amount will be calculated only on the remaining loan balance every month-end.

What if I operate an online business?
Answer:

You must have a physical business location with tangible evidence that you do business and that the business is yours.

What type of collateral do I need?
Answer:

Flexible collateral arrangements depending on loan size (household goods, business equipment, goods in stock, vehicles, property etc.)

A valid ID-card, and a minimum balance of N1,000. You will also enjoy all charge-free mobile banking services (instant fund transfer, bill payment, utility bills, school fees, airtime top-up, balance enquiry).

What category of ID-card do you regard as valid?
Answer:

National ID card, International Passport, Driver’s license, Permanent voter’s card etc. that has not yet expired.

How can I make deposits without coming to your banking premises?
Answer:
Deposits can be made through various platforms available;
  • Correspondent bank from our partner banks
  • eBillsPay at any branch of all commercial banks in Nigeria
  • internet banking transfer from all commercial banks in Nigeria.
  • Electronic transfer
  • Merchant Scheme from our partner banks.

What is the interest rate on savings?
Answer:

The interest rate currently is 4.2% per annum.

What are the interest rates on Term Deposit?
Answer:

The interest rate depends on the amount and maturity period. It is negotiable.

What is the minimum I can fix?
Answer:

The minimum amount is N30, 000.

What is the minimum tenor?
Answer:

The minimum tenor is 30days.

If I have urgent cash needs, can I liquidate and get my funds?
Answer:

Yes, however accrued interest may be charged depending on the type of interest payment chosen.

How can I get my interest?
Answer:

Interest rate can be paid into your account monthly or upon maturity.

How to apply for a PoS?
Answer:

  1. Kindly download form from ABN website OR pick up an application form from any of our branches nearest to you OR through your Relationship Officer.
  2. Fill the form and submit after completion
  3. The POS terminal is deployed to your business location within 15 business days maximum
  4. Terms and conditions apply.

How myAB-POS Works?
Answer:

  • Step 1: Insert card
  • Step 2: Press keys with digits to enter value of goods e.g. N20,000
  • Step 3: Press Enter key (green key) to validate amount
  • Step 4: Enter PIN and press the Enter key (green key) to confirm PIN
  • Step 5: Terminal screen reads transaction status - Approved or Declined
  • Step 6: Press Enter key (green key) to print customers receipt
  • Step 7: Press any key to print duplicate (merchants) receipt

When is my account credited for a successful transaction?
Answer:

  • Cardholder gets instant debit for a successful transaction.
  • Business owner receives value within 24 hours (except weekends)

  • All clients.
  • This includes but not limited to; Eatery, Spa, Supermarkets, Bar, Hotels & Restaurants, Electronic Shops, Pharmacies, Boutiques, Hospitals, Airlines, Petrol Stations etc

AB Bank Card

What is a debit Card?
Answer:

The ABN Debit Card is a payment card that represents an electronic means of withdrawing money from your bank account or making purchases with the money in your bank account. The ABN Debit Card can be used on any bank ATMs. It can also be used on POS terminals.

What is the maximum amount I can withdraw?
Answer:

You can withdraw a maximum of N40,000 per transaction and perform up to five transactions per day. In all, a customer can withdraw a maximum of N200,000 in a day.

Where can I use my AB Bank Card?
Answer:

You can use your AB Bank card to pay for goods and services at millions of establishments worldwide. Your card will be accepted at any establishment that displays the MasterCard logo.

Can I withdraw cash using my AB Bank Card?
Answer:

You can withdraw cash on your account from any ATM

What Can I do with myABcard MasterCard?
Answer:
  • Allows you to make withdrawals and purchases on any MasterCard enabled ATM and POS.
  • You get 24/7 direct access to your personal funds allowing you pay for goods and services
  • It saves time and money, as you can spend directly from your account
  • You can shop conveniently and pay for goods and services anywhere in the Country
  • With myABcard MasterCard you enjoy unlimited FREEDOM.
  • Your card remains valid for three years
Can I use my AB Bank card to shop on the internet?
Answer:

If the ATM displays the message "Incorrect PIN"?
Answer:

Visit any of our branches and submit a letter of complaint to the Client Adviser of your branch. The letter must include account number and/or PAN

I have forgotten my Debit Card PIN
Answer:

Submit a request for a new PIN through the CSU officers of your branch and a new PIN will be issued to you.

Can I tie additional accounts to my Debit Card?
Answer:

Yes you can tie additional accounts to your Debit Card. For fresh requests, there is provision on the Application Form for the main (default) account number to be documented. There is also the space provided on the same form for the other account numbers (that the customer has, with AB Bank and would like access to).If the customer has got his access codes for a particular account and would like to add another account to the facility, he /she is required to write a letter to that effect. The letter, which must be duly signed by him, must have the following details:

  • Full Names
  • Account numbers (both existing and new)
  • Full Names

The limit allowed per transaction is N100, 000

I registered but not receiving activation code?
Answer:

Do Not Disturb (DND) status of the registered line should be checked/confirmed and deactivated if active, by sending STATUS to 2442.

Do you charge on transactions while using myABmobile?
Answer:

No, All transactions on myABmobile are Free Of Charge irrespective of the number of times used. This is freedom.

Can I use myABcard on any ATM or POS?
Answer:

Yes, myABcard card can be used on all ATM and POS terminal (Mastercard compliance – 98%).

How much do you charge using myABcard?
Answer:

Transactions on myABcard are Free of Charges irrespective of the number of times used.

Why can’t I check my balance using myABcard?
Answer:

Account balance can be checked/verified through myABmobile. And after every transaction on your account, your account balance will be sent to you via bank alert (free of charge).
